We are a family-run kennel verified and registered by the World (FCI) and National Cynolological Association (Cynological Association of Slovenia) with registered name »STARS OF THE MOON«. The name of the kennel originates from the pedigree name of our oldest bitch Molly, being the starter of our breeding and the mother of our very first litter, back to 2012. As she brought fundamental changes to our lives, give them a new sense and deeper meaning, we decided to name our kennel after her and in such a way keep her importance and contribution through all future litters of our present and future »stars« of our breed.
I have been living with dogs all my life as my grandfather was a big German Shepherd fan. Turning point that completely changed my life was visiting my girlfriend in England, where she was working and also looking after two Border-Collie bitches – Nelly that was at the time 10 years old and Floss, only a four months old blue-merle puppy. There I spent two remarkable weeks in the company of an adult, highly-skilled Border-Collie bitch and extremely vigorous and playful Border-Collie puppy, you can see them on photos below.
Through daily walks I got to know the character and behaviour propertiees of this impressive breed and I was soon completely taken over. When I came home, I read a huge amount of available information about Border Collies and after reasonable consideration I decided to become an owner of a representative of this exceptional breed. My affection for Border Collies thus began with arrival of our black and white bitch Molly that completely changed my worldview and turned my compass of life in new direction. She taught me a great deal about life and its priorities and she still is and that is why she has a special place in my life. Unexpectedly, but in time, later came our younger blue-merle Border- Collie bitch Indy and they soon became true friends and inseparable allies.
With my girl Molly I started training Agility in the season of 2010 and gained 4th place in the National Championship of Slovenia in the season of 2011 (class A1 Large). In the next season we gained what seemed beyond reach, 3rd place in the Winter Cup of Slovenia and later on 1st palce in the National Championship of Slovenia and 1st place in Slovenian National Cup as well and thus became National and Slovenian Cup Champions in the category A2 Large for the season 2012! But cherry on the cake was our qualification for the European Agility Championship – European Open 2012 in Sweden and we also took part in it. This is undoubtedly our first bigger international competition and a very valuable experience. We managed to qualify for National Team also in the season of 2014, when we represented the colors of Slovenia at the European Championships European Open 2014 in Hungary. From 2013 on we regularly take part in biggest every-year International Border-Collie Agility Championship – Border-Collie Classic, where I participated as team finalist for several times, in the season 2015 with both of my girls Molly and Indy and with other two members of the team we managed to achieve the 2nd place and with this the title of Border Collie Classic 2015 Team Vice Champions in Luxembourg, this by all means being our best international achievement so far. Molly is now competing in the highest quality class – A3 and Indy is persistently following her steps.

Agility Achievements Cronologically:
As far as time and other obligations permit, we are beside competitions together with our dogs also working on sheep herding, frisbee, obedience and tricks. For relaxation and their natural needs and instincts we take daily walks with them in nature. To keep them in form & shape for their sport activities and to prevent eventual injuries we are regularly mountaineering, bicycling, rollerjoring, swimming and in winter skijoring with them. They are treated as members of the family, they live in the house together with us and under surveilance they are moving freely in our garden. In frames of our author projects we are together with the institutions interested enabling the socially unprivileged subjects (convicts, juvenile delinquents, elder people, persons with physical handicap etc.) to interact with our dogs and pups and are together with them helping as volunteers in our local abandoned animals shelter.
We advocate lifelong learning and we think that there is never enough knowledge and learning new experiences and skills, so we regularly attend training and various lectures , seminars and workshops, especially on the subject of psychology, education and training of dogs. I have passed the internship for puppy-class trainer and from 2012 on I am a member of the court of honour at our dog-club.
We strive to share our knowledge and experiences also with the owners of our pups and others that are interested and thus prepare them for responsible and satisfactory dog ownership, which is one of more important issues of our mission.
Beside competitional and educational activities we were, together with our dogs, guests in TV shows and in 2015 we were invited by one of the biggest producers of dog accessories, Finish HURTTA to participate as models for commercials shooting and photo session of their new products collection for the season 2015/2016 in Dolomites.

We are planning and coordinating our litters with regard to competitional and other obligations. Pups are as well as our other adult dogs considered to be a part of our family and live together with us in our house, exposed to everyday sounds, visitors and other pets and at the same time live in the safe protective environment of their pack. They are able to freely run in the garden, where they get to know the outside world, various sounds, smells and grounds and train their physical and motoric skills on various props and obstacles adapted to their age. A special accent is given to early socialization in cooperation with outside institutions in order to adequately prepare them for their living in their new homes and environment. We follow their progress and development also after their departure to their new homes and also organize litter meetings.
